The Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS) has condemned interference with an N1 television crew reporting from a rally in support of Informer outside the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM).
What happened and what UNS said
According to the association’s statement, some participants walked in front of reporter Anđela Čolanić’s camera, covered its lens with umbrellas and shouted insults. UNS described the conduct as unacceptable and stressed that the public is entitled to reporting from different sources.
The rally took place on 4 November 2026, as REM was considering measures relating to programmes broadcast by Informer. Supporting or opposing a broadcaster does not justify obstructing reporters or compromising their safety.
This incident is separate from the previously reported REM decisions on television programmes (article in Serbian). Any legal liability must be established by the competent authorities, not assumed from competing statements.
