Novi Sad: FTN union calls for dean Boris Dumnić to resign

The union at Novi Sad's Faculty of Technical Sciences has called for dean Boris Dumnić to step down, raising allegations about university procedures and staff representation.

The trade union at the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN), University of Novi Sad, has called for dean Boris Dumnić to resign. Its demand was set out in an open letter reported by Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) on 2 November 2026.

What the union alleges

The signatories criticise the dean’s conduct during student blockades, his earlier public political involvement and the way university procedures have been handled. They also question why the union’s application for formal recognition as a representative organisation remains unresolved.

The union says it has more than 200 members and alleges that their organisational rights have been undermined. These are the union’s allegations, not findings established by a court. Claims of breaches of university rules require independent scrutiny.

A full account would need to include the response of the dean, the faculty administration and relevant authorities. The reviewed report does not present a court ruling substantiating every claim, nor does it announce that the dean has resigned.

This concerns the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, not a separate dispute involving the university’s Faculty of Philosophy.
