Serbian beekeepers have exported nearly three tonnes of honey to China after the two countries aligned their veterinary certificates and the “Naš med” processing facility was registered for the Chinese market, Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) reported on 3 November 2026.
Exports and producers’ expectations
According to RTV, the honey is shipped in 250-gram and 500-gram jars. Industry representatives hope to increase shipments substantially next year and anticipate higher prices paid to producers. The suggested 30–50% increase is a projection, not an agreed purchase price or a guaranteed rise in earnings.
Domestic beekeepers continue to face counterfeit honey, unfair competition and uneven yields. The report notes differing regional results for acacia and linden honey production this season.
For small producers, the benefits of exporting depend on product quality, certification, logistics and actual contracts. Access to a large overseas market does not automatically mean higher profits for every beekeeping business.
