Serbia’s Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (ALIMS), together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, is urging patients and healthcare professionals to report suspected adverse reactions to medicines. The appeal is being highlighted during the international MedSafetyWeek 2026 campaign, running through 8 November.
How to report a suspected reaction
Reports can be submitted through ALIMS’s official online service or using the agency’s reporting form. Patients do not need to establish that a medicine caused their symptoms before reporting a suspicion; the information is assessed by specialists. Healthcare workers and members of the public may both submit reports.
According to the campaign organisers, ALIMS has processed more than 21,000 reports of suspected adverse reactions. A report does not by itself confirm that a drug caused a reaction. Such information helps regulators monitor medicines after they reach patients.
The 8 November date marks the awareness campaign, not the end of routine reporting. Anyone experiencing serious symptoms should seek appropriate medical care rather than wait for an administrative response.
