Batrovci Freight Traffic Faces a Three-Hour Exit Wait as Serbia Lists New Motorway Work Zones

Roads of Serbia reported an approximately 180-minute wait for freight vehicles leaving Serbia at Batrovci at 8 a.m. November 8. The notice did not assign the same delay to passenger vehicles and also listed several motorway lane closures.

Roads of Serbia reported at 8 a.m. on November 8, 2026 that freight vehicles leaving Serbia through the Batrovci border crossing faced an estimated 180-minute wait. The same bulletin said no longer waits were reported for all vehicle categories at the other border crossings in its morning snapshot.

The three-hour figure is for trucks

Travelers should not apply the 180-minute estimate automatically to passenger cars or buses. Border conditions can change quickly, and carriers should check the latest official notice before choosing a crossing or dispatching a driver.

Motorway work zones to watch

  • On I A Route 5 near the Vrba interchange, fence repairs on November 8 close 200 meters of the shoulder in both directions.
  • On I A Route 3 from Pećinci to Šimanovci toward Belgrade, pavement marking from November 9 through 15 will close either the passing lane or shoulder, depending on the work stage.
  • On I A Route 1 from Velika Plana to Požarevac toward Belgrade, maintenance from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. November 9 will close the travel lane and shoulder through a work area at least one kilometer long.
  • Near the Kruševac West toll station on I A Route 5, one lane will be closed from November 9 through 19 for pavement repairs.

The morning bulletin reported no waits at motorway toll stations. That does not rule out slower traffic near lane closures. Drivers should follow temporary signs, increase following distance and allow extra time.
