The city of Subotica has a well-organized parking system divided into four color-coded zones, managed by the public utility company JKP Parking Subotica, which was established in 1998. Its main goal is to organize, maintain, and develop parking spaces across the city.
SRBIJA NEWS – Red Zone (Zone I) costs 65 RSD per hour, Yellow Zone (Zone II) is 55 RSD per hour, Green Zone (Zone III) has a fixed rate of 150 RSD from 5 AM to 3 PM, and Blue Zone (Zone IV) is the most affordable at 35 RSD per hour. Payment is made via SMS: simply send your vehicle registration number (no spaces or dashes) to the designated number—9241 for Red, 9242 for Yellow, 9243 for Green, and 9244 for Blue. You will receive confirmation once your payment is processed.
For business use, daily tickets are available: 408 RSD per day in the Red Zone, 258 RSD in the Yellow, and 252 RSD in the Blue. These can also be paid via SMS by sending a message to 9245, 9246, and 9247 respectively.
The official website, suparking.rs, allows users to determine their parking zone using geolocation, pay for parking online, or buy daily tickets. Physical tickets can also be purchased at kiosks and at the company’s office at Đure Đakovića Street 23/II. Once parked, drivers must immediately pay and display the ticket clearly behind the windshield. A 15-minute grace period is allowed for quick stops.
If a vehicle is parked illegally, it may be towed and taken to the impound lot located at Izvorska bb. You can check online whether your vehicle has been towed by entering your license plate number on the company’s website.
Subotica’s parking system continues to evolve, as the number of registered vehicles in the city now exceeds 80,000. The introduction of a structured zone system has reduced congestion in the city center, encouraged the use of public transport, and improved traffic management. Residents living in paid parking zones are eligible for discounted monthly passes—e.g., around 642 RSD per month for Yellow Zone and 798 RSD for Red Zone.
In addition to parking services, JKP Parking offers bike rentals through the SuBike project. Bicycle stations are located at:
- the city center (behind the Open University),
- Palić (near “Mala gostiona”),
- Dudova Forest (near the Sports Hall),
- the city pool,
- and Mali Bajmok (near the Buvljak Shopping Center).
To use SuBike, users must register and receive a SuBike card (one-time fee: 500 RSD). Bike rental costs 20 RSD per hour or 100 RSD for the whole day. Stations are open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and bike returns are not time-limited.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to regularly check the official website for updates on zones, fees, rules, penalties, and new services.
