A flock of sheep belonging to a household near Seljašnica, outside Prijepolje in south-western Serbia, was attacked by a group of dogs during the night. According to the local outlet PP Media on 3 November 2026, seven animals were killed or injured.
What the local report says
The owner and local residents said the flock had been kept in a fenced pen. The dogs reportedly entered the enclosure and caused substantial losses. Residents also told the outlet that groups of stray dogs had previously been seen in the surrounding rural area.
The case was reported to the relevant authorities. However, the precise circumstances, the potential amount of compensation and any responsibility on the part of public services have yet to be officially established. Witness accounts should not be treated as a completed investigation.
The incident highlights the need to protect farm animals while addressing stray-dog populations through humane, lawful veterinary and municipal measures. The event was reported in early November and should not be described as an ongoing attack.
