SRBIJA NEWS aims to publish useful, accurate and accountable reporting on Serbia. Our editorial priorities are verification, clear attribution, independence, context and prompt correction of material mistakes.
Verification before publication
We seek original, identifiable sources: official decisions, public data, direct statements, documents and reputable reporting. Important figures should have dates and units. The existence of a press release does not by itself prove every underlying claim. Where an issue is disputed, we identify whose assertion it is and seek relevant responses.
News, analysis and practical guides
A breaking news item reports a verifiable recent development. An analysis interprets facts with appropriate context. A guide explains a topic or process and should not be presented as a new event simply because its publication date is recent. Statistics need a clear reporting period and, where possible, a link to the original release.
Political, criminal and legal coverage
We distinguish allegations, complaints, investigations, indictments, preliminary rulings and final judgments. The presumption of innocence applies. We avoid presenting a forecast, political assertion or unverified social-media post as an established fact. We seek balance without implying that equally credible evidence exists on every side of a factual question.
Images and automated assistance
Archive and illustrative photographs should not be described as images of a specific event they did not document. We aim to record appropriate credit, permission or licence information. Translation and AI tools may assist editorial workflows, but they do not replace factual verification, source review or editorial responsibility. We should not invent eyewitness reports, quotations or official decisions.
Advertising and independence
Advertising and affiliate programmes may support the publication, but advertisers do not receive editorial control. Material paid for or supplied by a commercial partner must be clearly labelled. Read our Affiliate Disclosure and Privacy Policy.
Corrections and accountability
Readers may request factual corrections and submit evidence to [email protected]. Material factual changes should carry an appropriate note explaining the amendment. Visit the Corrections page for the procedure and our News Tips page to share original information.
